MRT Ride For Three 2

If you take a ride in an MRT, it is easy to find a sign that said “Please give the seat to someone who needs it more than you”. It serves as a nice decorative sign that nobody actually read.
Just yesterday morning I took MRT ride during the rush hour and I could see that there were two pregnant ladies who stood in the crowd while the seats were filled with young men, educated office workers, who apparently did not see the pregnant ladies because he was very busy doing his own stuff, such as pretending to sleep or looking the other way.
But finally a young man alighted and everybody just asked the pregnant lady to sit. Phew.

And my wife was also able to find a seat after that. Then it dawned to me, my wife is sitting, but I was still standing. Nobody offered a seat for an expecting man, although the bulge on my tummy was bigger than my wife’s. So she just sat there nicely, while I was still standing in the crowded MRT car and got shoved further inside. I could not have a conversation with her because I stood quite far, and I was stuck between men whose idea of morning bath, based on the smell, consisted of only wiping out their morning drool.

But at the end it paid off to see my wife resting on her seat, knowing that the baby was also resting and helped it grow. Now, would you excuse me? I need to rest and lie down, because I am also growing.
